Ashurst has appointed Dyfan Owen as head of the firm’s dispute resolution practice in Dubai.
Owen, who was promoted to partner in May, has relocated from Ashurst’s London office. He will be joined by associate James McDonald, as the firm looks to grow its disputes offering in the region.
Owen advises on complex commercial disputes in energy, transport, infrastructure and construction sectors, with a particular focus on the Middle East. He also advises on arbitration proceedings, anti-bribery and corruption matters in the region.
“Having someone with Owen's background and expertise based in Dubai will play a key role in further developing our capability and offering to clients in the region,” said Joss Dare, Ashurst’s Middle East managing partner, in a statement.
The new addition takes Ashurst’s Dubai partner count to four.
