Dentons Rodyk & Davidson, the Singapore law firm of Dentons, has appointed Gerald Singham as its next managing partner. He will replace Philip Jeyaretnam SC, who has been appointed as a judicial commissioner of the Supreme Court of Singapore.

Singham, who has spent his entire professional career with what is now Dentons Rodyk, has served as deputy managing partner since 2011. His term as managing partner will commence on Jan. 1, and he will continue to lead the firm’s competition practice in Singapore.

Jeyaretnam, 56, has been managing partner since 2011. He was one of the youngest lawyers to be appointed senior counsel, when he was given the title in 2003 at the age of 38. Jeyaretnam was a partner at Helen Yeo & Partners when it merged with Rodyk & Davidson in 2002. In 2016, he led the latter firm’s combination with Dentons.

Following Jeyaretnam’s appointment, the Supreme Court will have six judicial commissioners.
