Eversheds Harry Elias (EHE), the Singapore office of Eversheds Sutherland, has strengthened its disputes practice after hiring former Baker McKenzie partner Weiyi Tan.

Tan spent 11 years with Baker McKenzie before her departure from the firm in 2018. This was followed by a five-month stint at the International Monetary Fund in Washington D.C., and three months as an in-house counsel at USG Boral Building Products.

This is Eversheds’ second disputes partner hire in Asia this month. Earlier, Wesley Pang joined Eversheds Sutherland as a partner in Hong Kong from the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC).

Tan is also the second lateral partner hire for EHE since the merger between Eversheds Sutherland and Harry Elias Partnership in 2017, the first being Gerard Ng. EHE now has 24 partners.
