Eversheds Sutherland has hired Dickson Ng as a corporate partner in Hong Kong from Taylor Wessing.

Ng focuses on capital markets and M&A, with a particular focus on advising international investment banks. He is also experienced in advising Hong Kong-listed companies on regulatory and compliance matters.

Ng joins Eversheds after just nine months at Taylor Wessing. Before that, he was an associate at Latham & Watkins and a senior associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, and completed his training at Mayer Brown JSM. At Latham, Ng was part of the team that advised Kono Insurance on its sale to Zurich Insurance in 2015.

Eversheds’ hire of Ng comes as the UK firm strengthens its corporate team in Hong Kong with the promotion of consultant Amy Yu as a partner and registered foreign lawyer Rachel Han as a consultant. The firm now has 34 corporate lawyers in the Hong Kong office, seven of whom are partners.

In ALB's Top 50 largest law firm ranking last year, Eversheds was ranked as the thirteenth-largest international law firm in Hong Kong with 78 lawyers, while Taylor Wessing, which currently has six lawyers in the city, did not make it into the top 20 and was unranked.
