Vietnam’s YKVN has appointed Kim Hyun-suk, former head of Clifford Chance’s Korea office, as a partner in Singapore.

Kim, who specialises in capital markets and cross border M&A, joined Clifford Chance’s Hong Kong office in 2009. He became a partner in 2011 and was named as Korea managing partner in 2012, when the firm launched its Seoul office. He departed the firm in February this year.

Before his time at the UK firm, Kim practised at Davis Polk & Wardwell and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

“We are very pleased that Hyun has decided to join us,” said Truong Nhat Quang, managing partner of YKVN. “His strong experience and track record in capital markets, M&A and arbitration will strengthen our ability to serve clients in key practice areas. He will be a key player in the expansion of our international practice.”
