Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has hired arbitration specialist Robert Pé as a partner in Hong Kong from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.

Pé’s experience covers commercial dispute resolution, corporate investigations and commercial litigation. He has handled different kinds of disputes including international arbitrations in London, Singapore and Hong Kong under the rules of the HKIAC, SIAC, International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNICITRAL).

“Adding to our disputes capability in Asia is a strategic goal of the firm, and Robert’s addition is a key step in our effort to expand our international arbitration capacity,” said Cyrus Benson, London partner and co-chair of the firm’s international arbitration practice group, in a statement.

In addition, Pé has served as senior adviser on legal affairs to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Myanmar’s opposition leader and 1991 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, since 2012.
