K&L Gates has hired TMT partner Nigel Stamp in Hong Kong from Eversheds Sutherland, where he headed the Asia commercial and regional TMT practices.

Stamp advises on IT and other outsourcing projects, including public and private cloud transactions and cross-border IT procurement projects. He has also counselled on large-scale internet-related projects, including e-commerce and media for retailers and suppliers of electronics products, global telecommunications, and media companies.

At Eversheds, he was part of the team that advised Hong Kong-based investment firm AID Partners Capital on its acquisition of entertainment retailer HMV Asia, an entertainment retailer with operations in Hong Kong and Singapore, back in 2013.

Stamp will be part of the global commercial technology and sourcing practice, which focuses on structuring, negotiating, and documenting companies’ commercial transactions, as well as develop efficient contractual infrastructures and assist with a wide variety of outsourcing transactions.

K&L Gates has been growing across Asia recently. Besides Stamp in Hong Kong, the U.S. firm also hired energy partner Owen Chio in Taipei from KPMG Law Firm and corporate partner Dooyong Kang in Tokyo from Jones Day so far this month.
