Kirkland & Ellis has boosted its Greater China corporate practice with the hire of Gary Li as a partner at its Hong Kong office.

Li focuses on M&A and private equity transactions in Asia, and advises on leveraged buyouts, take-private transactions, PIPEs and growth equity investments.

Li joins Kirkland & Ellis from Ropes & Gray’s Hong Kong office, where he was a partner.

Li joins Kirkland a month after the appointments of restructuring partners Neil McDonald and Damien Coles, who joined the firm’s Hong Kong office from Hogan Lovells.
