K&L Gates has boosted its investment management and financial regulatory offering with the hire of Michael Wong as a partner in the firm’s Hong Kong office.

Wong advises clients on financial regulatory issues, as well as on the structuring, establishment and distribution of hedge funds and other alternative investments. He recently represented a Chinese financial institution on the listing of the first Renminbi Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor (RQFII) open-ended fund on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange.

Wong joins K&L Gates from Allen & Overy in Hong Kong, where he was a consultant.

With the addition of Wong, K&L Gates now has 11 partners in Hong Kong.
