Jones Day has hired Emerson Holmes as a partner in its disputes practice in Singapore from Nabarro, where he headed that firm’s Singapore office.

Holmes' practice focuses on dispute resolution arising from large-scale construction projects, particularly in the infrastructure and power projects sectors.

He also has experience in both litigation and alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, expert determination, dispute boards, adjudication and international arbitration.

"Emerson's practice complements our strong global disputes team, as well as our energy, and projects and infrastructure practices here," said Sushma Jobanputra, partner-in-charge of Jones Day's Singapore office, in a statement. "As the infrastructure and power sectors expand throughout South and Southeast Asia, Emerson's experience will help us continue to provide leading service to our clients."

Holmes’ move takes the number of Jones Day partners in Singapore to 13, and leaves Nabarro with just three partners.
