Offshore law firm Walkers has appointed Nick Davies as a partner in the firm’s global finance and corporate group in Hong Kong from rival firm Appleby.

Walkers has seen multiple partner-level exits from the firm’s Hong Kong office this year. The firm lost investment funds and corporate specialist Yin Xu to Harneys, while Carey Olsen added corporate lawyers Michael Padarin and James Webb as partners.

Davies specialises in finance and corporate related work with focus on debt capital markets, structured finance and private equity. He joined Appleby’s Hong Kong office in 2017 from Collas Crill, where he was a partner based in Jersey. Earlier in his career, Davies worked at Linklaters, Allen & Overy and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London, Amsterdam and Moscow.

The hiring of Davies comes after Walkers recently relocated two associates, Shannon Dyer and Ben Green, from Bermuda to the Hong Kong office.
