Asian Legal Business is hosting the presentation of 20 awards in the Philippines's legal circle. Nominations are now open and we will accept submissions in the form of self-recommendations and third-party nominations.

Rosario T. Setias-Reyes

National President, Integrated Bar of the Philippines

Rosario Setias-Reyes is the first woman to become the national president and chairperson of the board of governors of Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), the official organisation of all Philippine lawyers in the country. Setias-Reyes, who assumed leadership of the IBP in 2015, finished her law degree at the University of Santo Tomas, where she also earned her BA in Political Science, graduating cum laude.

Her active involvement in the IBP began in 2003, when she got elected as the body’s Governor for Greater Manila Region, which was composed of five chapters and had a total membership of approximately 13,000. In 2007, she was appointed National Director for Legal Aid and handled some special tasks assigned to her. In 2013, Setias-Reyes was elected as IBP’s executive vice president.

Prior to heading IBP, Setias-Reyes put up her own firm, R.S. Reyes Law Offices, in 2000. Under the aegis of her firm, she served as consultant to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). A corporate law specialist, she was also vice president for internal affairs of the Bank Lawyers Organization of the Philippines, treasurer of the Women Trial Lawyers Organization of the Philippines and secretary general of the Legal Network for Truthful Elections (LENTE).
