Randi received his Bachelor of Law from University of Indonesia. He started his career in private practice as associate at one of Jakarta’s prominent law firm - Sani & Aminoneddin & Partners (now SAP Advocates). He then decided to pursue and to dedicate his career as in house legal counsel started in 2011 as Legal Counsel at PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (“BNI”) where he was responsible for local and overseas civil and bankruptcy legal disputes, as well as represented the company before the court. During his tenure at BNI, he has represented the company at ISDA Annual Asia Pacific Conference in Hong Kong, 2013, and also was actively involved as legal team member at Himbara (Association of State Owned Bank) and Forum Hukum BUMN (Legal Forum of State Owned Companies). 

In 2013, He moved to PT Panin Dai-ichi Life (“Panin Dai-ichi”) and has been promoted as Head of Legal & Corporate Secretary.  In Panin Dai-ichi, he is responsible to manage and supervise all legal matters  (corporate & litigation) and also  appointed as corporate secretary of the company. He frequently represents the company at Global Management Conference concerning legal risk management in Tokyo. Currently, Randi also seated as legal advisor at AASI (Sharia Insurance Association of Indonesia), and also hold  Certified Professional, Life & Health Insurance (CPLHI) from LOMA - Canada.

Maria Irma Yunita Ardhiyanti, SH graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Law with a major in Transnational Law. She has 15 years experience as Legal Counsel, in which she has spent the first 4 years of her career path working in private practice as an associate lawyer and the following 8 years spent as an inhouse legal counsel in one of an incumbent telecommunication operator in Indonesia as Senior Legal Manager (Head of) Corporate Legal Non Litigation with the role of managing a team consisting of 5 Senior Lawyers, 1 junior lawyer, 1 legal apprentice and 1 legal administrator.

 

Edmund Kronenburg, Managing Partner, Braddell Brothers LLP

Edmund Kronenburg began his career at Drew & Napier in 1997, and is today the Managing Partner of Braddell Brothers LLP, Singapore’s second-oldest law practice, founded in 1883 by the sons of Singapore’s first Attorney-General. Edmund appears as counsel in trials and appeals before the Singapore courts, as well as in international commercial arbitrations, predominantly conducted under the SIAC, ICC and UNCITRAL Rules.  Outside court, he teaches trial advocacy and cross-examination at the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore, and has been doing so since 1997. Edmund is also an international Arbitrator.  He is a Fellow of the CIArb, SIArb, MIArb, AMINZ, HKIArb and PIArb and is admitted to the arbitrator panels / lists of various arbitral institutes including the KLRCA (Malaysia), HKIAC (Hong Kong), BANI (Indonesia), VIAC (Vietnam), TAI (Thailand) and the CAA (Taiwan) . As counsel, Edmund has acted for a variety of Indonesian clients in his 19-year career, among them Satelindo, Indosat, Mulia Ceramics, Lirik Petroleum (Satmarindo Group) and First Media (Lippo Group).  In 2013, Edmund and his team secured a significant victory for First Media against various Astro group companies by successfully resisting enforcement of over 99% of Astro’s USD250 million arbitration award in the Court of Appeal, Singapore’s highest court.

Andrew Sutedja, Managing Partner, Sutedja & Associates

Andrew is a Managing Partner of Sutedja & Associates Law Firm. Andrew has been actively involved in various notable and handling various prominent cases. He specializes in corporate and commercial practice legal practices and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).

In addition to that, Andrew has worked for the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia for the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and International Maritime Organisation (IMO) in London. He served at four different sections at the Embassy including: Political Affairs, Trade and Investment, Education and Socio-Culture Departments. He was also personally and directly responsible in assisting the Ambassador on various matters.

In early 2011, Andrew joined the Indonesian House of Representatives (“DPR-RI”) as an expert staff to Member of Parliament of The Republic of Indonesia Commission III: Legal Affairs and Laws, Human Rights and Security.

 

 

R Govintharasah, Director, Gurbani & Co

Govin joined Prakash Gurbani & Chong as Advocate & Solicitor in 1989 and continued practice with Gurbani & Co. He was made a partner of Gurbani & Co in January 1993. 

He is engaged primarily as Counsel in civil litigation involving shipping, air carriage, freight forwarding, insurance (marine and non-marine) as well as general litigation involving contractual disputes, accidents, industrial/work related, personal injury disputes and workmen's compensation claims. Apart from litigation, he also conducted investigations and reported on piracy claims and other marine casualties. In addition, he is also involved in arbitration hearings as Counsel and as Arbitrator.

 

Nicolette Barsdof-Liebchen, Consultant, Budiarto Law Partnership

Nicolette Barsdorf-Liebchen is a UK qualified solicitor with 15 years' experience in litigation and dispute resolution, especially within the insurance, construction and engineering industries. She also has significant experience concerning the regulation of financial services in the UK. Nicolette joined BLP as a consultant in 2013. She is currently in the process of completing her doctorate through Cardiff University, where she has done significant research on, amongst other things, globalization, new media, the digitisation of communications and information, and their impact on corporate activity and entrepreneurship. 

 

 

Jessica Tjendana, Associate, Budiarto Law Partnership

Jessica Tjendana is currently working as an associate for Budiarto Law Partnership. She earned her Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Manchester and LLB (Hons) from the College of Law, Manchester. While living overseas, she has worked as an in-house legal advisor for UK based design-company and as legal intern for Ge Cheng & Co, Beijing and Globe-Law LLP, Beijing. China. In Indonesia, she has worked as in-house legal advisor for hospitality group based in Bali. 

 

Andre Rahadian, Partner, Hanafiah Ponggawa & Partners (HPRP)

Andre Rahadian is a Partner and one of the founding members of HANAFIAH PONGGAWA & PARTNERS (HPRP). Commencing his legal career straight after graduating from Universitas Indonesia with a degree in law (S.H.), Andre earned his Master of Law (LL.M.) and Master of Finance (M.Sc. Finance) both from Boston University, Boston, USA. Andre joined HPRP in 1995 and was made a Partner of the firm in 2001.

In almost 20 years practicing as a corporate lawyer, Andre has been assisting many foreign investors as well as domestic ones in forming and structuring their investment plan and corporate business activities in Indonesia.

Andre is also well known as one of the most respected lawyers in the aviation industry in Indonesia. He has longstanding experience covering almost every legal and commercial aspect including aviation related regulatory. Andre has been representing prominent airline companies, among others the Indonesian national flag carrier PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Sriwajaya Air, PT Citilink Indonesia, and Tiger Airways. In aviation related matters, Andre also assisted PT GMF AeroAsia (Garuda Indonesia Group) in the aircraft maintenance and various major lessors.

In other practice, Andre has extensive experience in the oil and gas, energy, and power sectors, the shipping industry, as well as in financial services related matters. In these sectors, he has been assisting among others Ramba Energy Group, Golar LNG Energy Limited, Priamanaya Group, Bank Indonesia, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero), Tbk., Uni Credit Bank AG, and OCBC Bank Singapore.

In aviation, Andre is an active member in the Indonesian Air Law Society (Masyarakat Hukum Udara/MHU), a non political, independent, non-profit organization serving as the main communication forum for its members to exchange thoughts and ideas to advance the air law sector and acting as a partner of the government in the development of Indonesia’s air law sector. Currently he is serving as the Chairman of the organization. Yolanda Hutapea, PartnerWidyawan & Partners

Yolanda specialises in general corporate, capital investment, and mergers and acquisitions in the telecommunications, downstream oil and gas, energy and broadcasting industries.

Yolanda has a breadth of experience including advising:

  • STAR Group on its investment in PT Cakrawala Andalas Televisi which owns and operates ANTV, a free-to-air channel in Indonesia, and further the restructuring of its investment in Indonesia;
  • PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk, Jakarta on the sale of a 40% share in PT Transportasi Gas Indonesia to its strategic partner, Transasia Pipeline Company Private Limited;
  • PT Transportasi Gas Indonesia, a natural gas transporter on the negotiations on gas transportation and pipeline access arrangements in Indonesia;
  • PT Shell Indonesia on the downstream retail, i.e. fuel sale and storage and lube blending business in Indonesia;
  • PricewaterhouseCoopers on a regulatory study on the roles and legal standing of PLN under the current Indonesian electricity regulatory regime, including electricity tariff subsidy and government guarantees given to PLN;
  • Fresenius Kabi AG on the acquisition of a 51% interest in PT Ethica Industri Farmasi (Ethica) and the formation a joint venture with PT Soho Global Health (Soho), to develop Ethica's manufacturing capabilities and expand its injectable generics and oncology drugs portfolio;

Gilang Hermawan, Group Head Legal, Indosat Ooredoo 

Mr. Hermawan started his career as a key member of Banking & Finance practice group in Baker & Mckenzie International office in Jakarta, Hadiputranto, Hadinoto & Partners. He then joined Siemens in 2009. Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, Mr. Hermawan previously leads the legal team and responsible for all legal and regulatory issues of Siemens business in both countries, Indonesia & Malaysia.

 

Seradesy Sumardi, Country Legal Counsel, 3M Indonesia 

Seradesy Sumardi is a Country Legal Counsel for 3M, she joins 3M since 2016. After couple of years joined a law firm in her first years’ time as lawyer, she has been working as in house counsel for multinational companies in Indonesia with experience for more than 15 years.

As in-house counsel,  Seradesy has been experiencing and involved with many crossed-function projects as well as crossed-countries projects and managements as well as legal support for functions, that varied from telecommunication networks, electrical, procurement, construction (power plant, cement plant), manufacturing, fast moving consumer goods businesses, HR, procurement, supply chain, both local and overseas, of the Fortune-500 and Multinational Companies.

 

Andrea Ernst, Senior Counsel, PT. Hutchison 3 Indonesia 

Andrea Ernst works as Senior Counsel Network, Commercial and IT at PT. Hutchison 3 Indonesia. She is a German and US qualified lawyer and economist who has worked for several years in international dispute resolution for an international law firm in Washington, D.C. (US) and Frankfurt (Germany) and is a lecturer on international investment and trade disputes at the Heidelberg Center for Latin America in Santiago de Chile. She graduated from University of Heidelberg and Harvard Law School.

 

Marco Mengko, Partner, Law Office of Yang & Co.

Mr. Marco Mengko obtained his Bachelor of Laws (SH) from the University of Atma Jaya Jakarta.     Mr. Marco is one of the Partners who leads the Litigation practice in the firm. Having worked in other law firms prior to joining the firm for more than ten years, he is now focusing in the litigation area of practice. 

Mr. Marco has extensive experiences and in-depth knowledge in the practice including handling civil, criminal, bankruptcy, suspension of payment, arbitration, intellectual property right, industrial relation (labor) and family related litigation cases. In handling litigation cases, his main objective is to provide the best legal service in defending the client’s legal rights and to give the client the best and effective solution in resolving the dispute at the same time protecting the client’s interest in accordance with the prevailing law. 

Besides involving in the practice of Litigation, Mr. Marco also advises and handles corporate and non-litigation legal matters involving domestic as well as international companies. Joel is an English and New York qualified lawyer with 16 years’ experience advising on major cross-border transactions involving Indonesia. Joel focuses primarily on Mergers, Acquisitions, Private Equity and Corporate. Prior to joining Borrelli Walsh, he was a partner at Ashurst, he was recognised as a specialist in the Indonesian market, with a particular focus on Restructuring, M&A and Private Equity transactions.

Joel's client network is extensive, including international banks, Indonesian corporates and private equity firms. In addition, he maintains a strong network of connections amongst Indonesian regulators, court administrators and government ministers.

 

David Holme, Senior Foreign Legal Adviser, Widyawan & Partners

David has been based in Indonesia for eight years and practices principally in the energy, resources and infrastructure, mergers & acquisitions and general corporate and commercial fields.
