Allen & Overy has hired Melody Chan as a partner in Hong Kong from White & Case, where she was the head of Greater China dispute resolution practice.

With more than two decades of experience, Chan advises mainland Chinese financial institutions and clients in the energy, construction and TMT sectors on commercial litigation, debt enforcement and insolvency, international arbitration and ancillary matters across investigations, antitrust and data privacy.

Chan joined White & Case in 2012, becoming a partner in 2017. Previously, she was at Sidley Austin and Simmons & Simmons.

With this addition, Allen & Overy now has 24 partners in Hong Kong, including Gilbert Li and Iris Yeung, who joined from Linklaters in June last year. The firm also lost restructuring head Richard Woodworth to Linklaters in October.
