Baker McKenzie has hired capital markets and U.S. Securities regulations specialist Chen Sheng as a registered foreign lawyer (partner-equivalent) in Hong Kong from Clifford Chance.

With roughly a decade and a half of experience, Chen advises investment banks and corporations in the energy, life sciences and healthcare, and consumer goods and retail industries on equity and debt capital markets deals, including under the Shanghai-London Stock Connect and the China-Switzerland Stock Connect.

Chen worked at Clifford Chance for more than seven years. Previously, he was at DLA Piper in Hong Kong and Latham & Watkins in Shanghai. He interned with Baker McKenzie at the start of his career.

Baker McKenzie now has 45 partners in Hong Kong. They include employment disputes expert Tess Lumsdaine, who joined from Herbert Smith Freehills in January this year.
