newsClifford Chance has hired Xing Liyong, an expert in funds and investment management, as a partner in its Hong Kong office from Kirkland & Ellis.

Xing has experience advising global and Asian fund sponsors on the structuring, formation, and governance of private investment funds across various strategies, such as venture capital, growth capital, buyout, and real estate. She has represented a number of private equity firms in establishing China-focused funds.

Having joined Kirkland in 2014, Xing was promoted to partner in 2018. She earlier worked with Shearman & Sterling in New York and Hong Kong.

Clifford Chance’s Hong Kong office now has 35 partners. In November last year, the office added debt markets partner Alan Yeung from Shearman.
