Baker McKenzie has hired employment law expert Tess Lumsdaine as a partner in its Hong Kong office from Herbert Smith Freehills, where she was counsel.

Lumsdaine advises on employment-related disputes, compensation, mobility issues, and workplace investigations. She also advises companies in tech, banking and financial services, consumer goods and retail, and pharmaceutical sectors across the Asia Pacific.

She spent more than 12 years at Herbert Smith Freehills across its Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong offices. Lumsdaine started her career at Australian law firm Brown Wright Stein.

With the addition of Lumsdaine, Baker McKenzie has 181 lawyers in Hong Kong, including more than 50 partners.
