Mayer Brown has hired eight capital markets lawyers in Hong Kong, including partners Guiping Lu, Philip Hyde, Bonnie Yung and Jason Wang. While Lu and Hyde join from K&L Gates, Yung and Wang were most recently with EY’s Hong Kong law firm, LC Lawyers.

Lu, who joined K&L Gates from PRC firm Haiwen & Partners in 2019, focuses on equity and debt capital market deals and cross-border M&A. Prior to his stint at Haiwen & Partners, Lu was with Latham & Watkins for more six years, leaving as a counsel.  

Meanwhile, Hyde, who was at Hogan Lovells before he joined K&L Gates in 2014, has more than 25 years of experience. Hyde is an expert on debt capital markets, structured finance, derivatives, and securitisation transactions.

Both Yung and Wang were at Paul Hastings before they moved to LC Lawyers in 2019. Yung advises corporations and underwriters on Hong Kong IPOs, including investment banks. Wang has expertisein IPO deals, cross-border M&A, private equity investments, post-IPO fund raising and corporate compliance matters.  
With the addition of the quartet, Mayer Brown now has 71 partners in Hong Kong.
