Reed Smith has hired financial services regulatory specialist Jill Wong as a partner in Hong Kong from Howse Williams.

Wong, who has nearly three decades of experience advising financial institutions and companies on banking and securities regulatory and compliance matters, joined the legacy Howse Williams Bowers in 2013. She previously worked at Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance, and King & Wood Mallesons, and held the role of director of legal and compliance at Credit Suisse.

With this addition, Reed Smith now has 27 partners in Hong Kong, including debt capital markets lawyer Vivian Ji, who it hired from local corporate boutique Jeffrey Mak Law Firm. The office also recently lost disputes partner Stephanie Chan to Sidley Austin.
