Hong Kong boutique Georgiou Payne Stewien (GPS) has recruited its second partner in a matter of months, with corporate lawyer John Koh joining as a partner from FitzGerald Lawyers.

His addition comes shortly after disputes lawyer Kareena Teh joined GPS as a partner from EY member firm LC Lawyers.

Koh is a former managing partner of Osborne Clarke's Hong Kong office. In 2014, he was recruited by that firm from Bird & Bird to launch its presence in the SAR. After Osborne Clarke shuttered its Hong Kong office in 2020, Koh moved to local firm FitzGerald.

With more than 20 years of experience, Koh advises on general corporate, M&A, joint ventures and foreign direct investment in PRC. He also has a special focus on commercial law in the digital business sector.

With Koh’s arrival, GPS now has six partners, including Phillip Georgiou, Sonny Payne and Brett Stewien, who established the firm in 2017.
