UK firm RPC is looking to make inroads into Korea after hiring Peter Kwon as a partner in Hong Kong from Ashurst, where he was that firm’s Korea practice co-head.

Kwon, who will join Ashurst’s newly formed Korea desk, is experienced in assisting Korean financial institutions, chaebols (South Korean industrial conglomerates) and investment funds in cross-border disputes, as well in securities regulatory matters.

Antony Sassi, RPC’s Asia managing partner, said, “Peter's addition will open up the Korean market for us and create new opportunities to work for Korean clients and Korean law firms through our leading referral practice across all our offices."

Following Kwon’s hire, RPC now has 12 partners in Hong Kong.
