Daniel Koh, who recently as a retired judge of Singapore’s Family Justice Court, has joined local firm CNPLaw as a partner.

At CNP, Koh will specialise in estate planning, matters related to Singapore’s Mental Capacity Act, civil and criminal law litigation, mediation and arbitration.

With a career in public service spanning nearly 40 years, Koh has served as a magistrate, assistant registrar, district judge and registrar in the Subordinate Courts of Singapore. During his stint as family court judge, he dealt with family disputes, ancillary hearings, probate applications and contested lasting power of attorneys and deputyship appointment hearings under the Mental Capacity Act.

Starting in 2001, Koh held the position of Deputy Principal Senior State Counsel in the Attorney General’s Chambers. During this team, he was the lead prosecutor in the China Aviation Oil case, one of the biggest financial scandals in Singapore. Koh also served as the first Public Guardian in Singapore from 2010 to 2015.

The hire of Koh comes a few months after CNPLaw added Low Wee Siong as a partner from Singapore boutique Wong Tan & Molly Lim.

With Koh’s hire, CNPLaw has 23 partners.
