Singapore boutique Gateway Law Corporation has lured over two arbitration specialists from King & Spalding - partner Simon Dunbar and counsel Kevin Lim – as it looks to build an international disputes practice.

Dunbar has been based in Singapore for more than 15 years. He started his career at Shearman & Sterling in 2004, before moving to King & Spalding in 2011.

Dunbar represents clients in international arbitrations with a focus on joint venture, energy and infrastructure disputes. He has also served as sole or presiding arbitrator in ICC, SIAC and ad hoc arbitrations, and is an accredited mediator. Dunbar recently represented InterGlobe Enterprises in a $600 million LCIA arbitration over the ownership and management of IndiGo, India’s largest airline.

Lim, who focuses on joint venture, energy, technology, infrastructure, and investor-state disputes, was previously State Counsel at the International Affairs Division (IAD) of the Singapore Attorney-General’s Chambers. There he advised the Singapore government on public international law matters such as BIT and FTA negotiations, commercial and investment-treaty disputes, and WTO dispute settlement.

With Dunbar and Lim joining Gateway, the Singapore firm, founded in 2006, now has 11 lawyers.
