appointmentsStephenson Harwood has hired international arbitration expert Chris Bailey as a partner from King & Spalding. Bailey will initially be based in the London office, and later relocate to Singapore.

Bailey joins shortly after Stephenson Harwood lost arbitration heavy-hitter Timothy Cooke and two other lawyers to Reed Smith in Singapore.

Bailey was with King & Spalding in Tokyo for nearly six years, having joined as a partner from Ashurst in 2015 to help launch the former’s office in the Japanese capital. He was previously at Herbert Smith Freehills, and prior to that, the legacy Barlow, Lyde & Gilbert.

Bailey represents clients in the energy and resources, transportation, infrastructure, financial services, media, and IT sectors.

With Bailey’s hire, Stephenson Harwood will now have 20 partners in Singapore.
