U.S. law firm Jones Day has hired Parveet Singh Gandoak as a partner in its corporate practice in Singapore from King & Spalding.

Gandoak brings with him almost two decades of experience in corporate transactions. His expertise spans private equity, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and capital markets across various industries.

He joined King & Spalding in 2021 from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he was a counsel. Prior to that, Gandoak worked at Debevoise & Plimpton and Dechert. A former radio DJ, he was named as one of the ALB Asia Top 15 Rising Lawyers in 2021.

Jones Day, which holds a Qualifying Foreign Law Practice license in Singapore, aims to leverage Gandoak's experience to further strengthen its position in the region's competitive legal market.

"Parveet has advised on some of the largest cross-border corporate transactions to emerge from South Asia in recent years. His arrival significantly enhances our capability to serve clients on complex international deals," said Sushma Jobanputra, partner-in-charge of Jones Day's Singapore Office, in a statement.

Following Gandoak’s arrival, Jones Day now has eight partners in Singapore, while King & Spalding has 10. Last year, the latter firm lost energy partner Anthony Patten to Herbert Smith Freehills.
