U.S. law firm White & Case has hired capital markets expert Rahul Guptan as a partner in Singapore from Magic Circle firm Clifford Chance, where Guptan spent nearly 13 years, and was most recently co-head of the Global India Group.

Guptan advises Indian and international companies, investment banks and private equity firms, on transactions involving equity and debt capital markets, M&A, private equity and regulatory matters.

His notable work includes counselling Embassy Office Parks REIT on India’s first ever REIT IPO, representing the bookrunners on Indiabulls Housing Finance’s issuance of “masala” bonds on the Singapore Stock Exchange, and advising the lead managers on Bandhan Bank’s $691 million IPO.

Guptan’s addition comes a few months after White & Case hired Tim Fourteau and Jamie Franklin as partners in Singapore from Latham & Watkins. White & Case now has 13 partners in Singapore.

Prior to joining Clifford Chance in 2008, Guptan spent more than nine years at the legacy Amarchand Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff & Co in India, leaving that firm as a partner.
