Watson Farley & Williams has advised Italian gas grid operator Snam Group on its 400-million-euro ($402 million) agreement to buy the floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) BW Singapore from BW LNG, which was advised by King & Spalding.

BW Singapore, which was built in 2015, has a maximum storage capacity of about 170,000 cubic metres of LNG (liquefied natural gas) and a nominal continuous regasification capacity of about 5 billion cubic metres per year. It is expected that the vessel will be located off the coast near Ravenna in northeastern Italy and operational by summer 2024.

The King & Spalding team was led by partners Lachlan Clancy and Jill Cooper, while the WFW team was led by partners Michele Autuori and Mark Tooke, who were supported by partners Joe McGladdery, Richard Stephens, and Solange Leandro.
