Shameek Chaudhuri (R) and Arvind Ramesh, former partners at India’s AZB & Partners have left to set up a new firm called Vritti Law Partners in Mumbai. The firm aims to expand to other Indian cities in due course.

With more than two decades of experience, Chaudhuri, who was a senior partner at AZB, advises domestic and international corporations on general corporate work, M&A, and banking. Prior to his 18-year stint at his previous firm, Chaudhuri was at Dua Associates for nearly four years.

Meanwhile, Ramesh advises private equity funds and insurance companies on joint ventures, M&A and restructurings. Before joining AZB in 2010 as a partner, he worked for Deloitte and KPMG.
