The Role
Reporting into the General Counsel Asia Pacific based in Singapore and working closely with department and country heads, you will focus on the following responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on a wide range of legal issues including commercial issues, technology, intellectual property, employment, regulatory matters, competition, risk and compliance.
- Provide corporate governance, compliance and company secretarial support to all relevant businesses across the region.
- Negotiate and draft a range of IT, marketing, operations, services and alliance contracts and provide guidance and advice on matters related to contract management.
- Support business development initiatives including joint ventures and M&A across the region.
- Develop, update and streamline legal processes, procedures and documentation.Interact with the global legal team on global projects.
- Manage the efficient and cost effective use of external counsel when required.
The Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years post qualification experience.
- Combination of private practice experience and in-house experience is preferred.Strong commercial experience working across the Asia Pacific region.
- Experience in technology, IT and financial services industries would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Sound independent judgment, especially under pressure, and ability to quickly build trust and credibility.
- Willing to “roll the sleeves up”.Personable, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Periodic travel required.
