Bird & Bird has forged strategic alliances with two leading Indonesian law firms – IP boutique firm K&K Advocates and business law firm Nurjadin Sumono Mulyadi & Partners (NSMP) – as it looks to increase the breadth of its services in that country.

Earlier this year, Bird & Bird signed an agreement with Korea's Hwang Mok Park. It also has a long-standing co-operation agreement with Tay & Partners in Malaysia.

“The introduction of the ASEAN Economic Community has accelerated client expectations and in turn created a strong demand for Bird & Bird's services within the participating countries and in particular within Indonesia,” said Justin Walkey, chairman of Bird & Bird’s Asia-Pacific practice, in a statement. “We are delighted to welcome NSMP and K&K Advocates to the Bird & Bird international network.”

Bird & Bird also has offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, and operates in Singapore as ATMD Bird & Bird.
