India’s TMT Law Practice has established a foothold in the southern part of the country after merging with APR Associates in the city of Chennai.

The Chennai office of the New Delhi-headquartered law firm has a 13-member team, and is headed by partner Rajesh Ramanathan.

"We are very excited about this merger. TMT Law Practice will now become a prominent player in the South Indian legal market, and one of the leading litigation firms in the area," Ramanathan said in a statement.

While TMT Law Practice is a boutique firm specialising in technology, media and telecommunications, APR Associates - headed by legal veteran Adala Prabhakara Reddy - counts intellectual property rights (IPR), and commercial litigation and prosecution as its strengths.

The TMT Law Practice Chennai office will focus on IPR, general civil, commercial, contentious and non- contentious litigation, including arbitration.
