Kirkland & Ellis senior corporate partner Dominic Tsun, who acted on a number of notable Hong Kong IPOs in recent years, has resigned from the firm’s Hong Kong office.

Among the major deals that Tsun handled for the Biglaw firm include Meitu’s $630 million IPO in December 2016, Huarong’s $2.5 billion listing in October 2015, and China Galaxy Securities’ $3.1 billion share sale in April 2015.

He joined Kirkland in 2011 from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he was co-head of corporate in Asia.

It is not known what his next move will be.

A Kirkland spokesperson said, “We are committed to the Hong Kong capital markets practice as part of our strategy of targeting a broad range of high-end transactional and contentious matters.”

In 2011, Kirkland more than doubled its lawyers in Asia to 50, including eight partners, of which Tsun was one. The partners were from rivals Skadden, Latham & Watkins and Allen & Overy.

According to the ALB Top 50, Kirkland & Ellis currently has more than 55 lawyers in Hong Kong.
