Sydney-headquartered intellectual property firm Spruson & Ferguson is following up its recent Jakarta office opening with the launch of a branch in Bangkok.

The firm’s Bangkok office will be headed by Daniel Q. Greif, most recently the head of IP, IT and telecom at Thai law firm Siam Premier. Greif, who joined his prior firm in 2010, has experience in contentious and non-contentious intellectual property and technology law including trademarks, copyrights, patents, trade secrets, domain names, e-commerce and technology related law.

Greif spent 17 years as trademark counsel with Coca-Cola, and has also worked with Sony. His career includes stints in the U. S., Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia and Austria.

The Bangkok office for Spruson comes about three months after it opened an office in Jakarta. That office is led by principal Adolf Panggabean, who joined the firm from Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung, Herbert Smith Freehills’ associate firm in Indonesia. With more than 17 years of experience, Panggabean represents multinational clients on protection of patent, trademark, copyright and industrial design matters, as well as IP litigation matters.

Spruson also has offices in Shanghai, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, to go with its headquarters in Sydney.
