Fast-growing Indian firm Clasis Law has expanded its litigation practice with the twin hirings of Sumeet Lall as head of its litigation and dispute resolution team, and Sagar Divekar as partner.

Lall, who joined the firm’s New Delhi office, joined Clasis Law from Parekh & Co, where he advised a wide range of clients on matters primarily in the infrastructure, energy and insurance sectors. Lall has extensive litigation experience, regularly appearing before the Supreme Court of India, the High Courts of Delhi, Gujarat and Allahabad, the Company Law Board, the National Consumer Dispute Resolution Commission and various arbitral tribunals.

Divekar, who joined the firm’s Mumbai office, was previously with Wadia Ghandy & Co, and counts Trilegal as well as Shaw Wallace & Co among his previous employers. A general commercial litigator, Div has appeared before the Supreme Court of India, the Bombay High Court, the Bombay City Civil Court, the Securities Appellate Tribunal, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the International Chamber of Commerce Arbitration and various arbitration tribunals.
