Shipping firm Watson Farley & Williams has hired Jian Guan as a partner in Hong Kong from China Merchants Commerce Financial Leasing (CMF Leasing) in Shenzhen, where he was a senior in-house legal counsel.

Guan started his career at Wang Jing & Co, where he advised clients on litigation and arbitration cases in China, Hong Kong and London. He then moved into an in-house role at ICBC Leasing, before moving to CMF Leasing.

With the addition of Guan, the number of partners in the Hong Kong office at Watson Farley & Williams is now five.
