The fifth edition of the Philippine Law Awards, a virtual event held on Nov. 20, showcased the work of the finest lawyers, firms, in-house teams and legal work in the country.

ACCRALAW claimed five awards that night, including Arbitration Law Firm of the Year, Young Lawyer of the Year (for Christopher Louie D. Ocampo) and Philippine Law Firm of the Year.

Villaraza & Angangco also had a big night, picking up four awards which included Dealmaker of the Year (for Sylvette Y. Tankiang) and Labor and Employment Law Firm of the Year.

Meanwhile, Tolosa Javier Law Firm was named the Boutique Law Firm of the Year and Latham & Watkins was awarded International Law Firm of the Year.

In the individual categories, Mark S. Gorriceta of Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra was awarded Managing Partner of the Year, while Poblador Bautista & Reyes won the Dispute Resolution Lawyer of the Year (for Alexander J. Poblador). Romulo Mabanta Buenaventura Sayoc & De Los Angeles’ Anna Cristina Collantes-Garcia meanwhile claimed the Woman Lawyer of the Year title.

In the in-house categories, Shell Companies in the Philippines won the Philippine In-House Team of the Year and Energy and Resources In-House Team of the Year awards while Accenture received the In-House Lawyer of the Year (for Millicent Joie Desiderio-Dime) and PMFTC Award Innovative In-House Team of the Year awards.
