UK firm Withers has appointed international arbitration expert Shaun Leong as a partner in Singapore from Eversheds Sutherland.

Leong’s addition is Withers’s second disputes partner hire this month, after it welcomed Chenthil Kumarasingam and his team from Oon & Bazul.

With over a decade of experience, Leong specialises in cross-jurisdictional disputes across the technology, life sciences, infrastructure and energy sectors.  He is the first Singaporean to be appointed an arbitrator of the Tashkent International Arbitration Centre in Uzbekistan. Leong is also an arbitrator of the Beihai Asia International Arbitration Centre, Bangalore International Mediation, Arbitration and Conciliation Centre, and Thailand Arbitration Center

Prior to joining Eversheds in 2018, Leong worked at Linklaters and Allen & Overy.
