The 16th edition of the ALB SE Asia Law Awards, a virtual event held on Oct. 15, showcased the work of the finest law firms, in-house departments and lawyers in Southeast Asia.

Allen & Gledhill won six awards this year. Among its victories, the firm claimed the big award of SE Asia Law Firm of the Year, as well as Singapore Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year.

Fellow Singapore Big Four firms Rajah & Tann Singapore and Drew & Napier won five and four titles, respectively.

Rajah & Tann’s wins included SE Asia Deal Firm of the Year and Regional Litigation Law Firm of the Year while Drew & Napier’s Cavinder Bull SC won the Singapore Managing Partner of the Year and Regional Managing Partner of the Year. Blossom Hing was named the Woman Lawyer of the Year (Law Firm), while the firm was also named the International Arbitration Law Firm of the Year.

Meanwhile, WongPartnership was the winner of the Restructuring and Insolvency Law Firm of the Year award and Tilleke & Gibbins won the Regional Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year. India’s L&L Partners was named the SE Asia Practice Firm of the Year.

Providence Law Asia and Daniel & Wong won the Rising Law Firm of the Year award, while TSMP Law Corporation claimed the Transactional Boutique Law Firm of the Year title.

In the individual category, ABNR’s Emir Nurmansyah was named Dealmaker of the Year while Davinder Singh of Davinder Singh Chambers won the Dispute Resolution Lawyer of the Year award. The Young Lawyer of the Year (Law Firm) title was claimed by Herbert Smith Freehills’ Irina Akentjeva.

In the In-house categories, GoJek won four awards including the SE Asia In-House Team of the Year and In-House Lawyer of the Year (for Pablo Malay) while CapitaLand was the winner of Young Lawyer of the Year (In-House) (for Renita Sophia Crasta) and Construction and Real Estate In-House Team of the Year.

And the Woman Lawyer of the Year (In-House) award was shared by Accenture’s Millicent Joie Desiderio-Dime and AIA Financial’s Rista Qatrini Manurung.
