Rajah & Tann Thailand has strengthened its shipping and insurance practice groups by hiring a team of lawyers from Chandler MHM led by Ittirote Klinboon, who joins as a partner.

The team, which also includes counsel Rawi Mechvichai and senior associate Toon Thanakham, brings experience in handling maritime and insurance disputes, including representing carriers and P&I Clubs in wet and dry marine claims.

Ittirote, who was a counsel at Chandler MHM, joined that firm in 2019. He previously had two stints at Tilleke & Gibbins and also worked at DLA Piper, PwC, and Dharmniti Law Office.

“We are delighted to have Ittirote and his team join us,” said Melisa Uremovic, co-managing partner at Rajah & Tann Thailand, in a statement: “The addition of the shipping and insurance team reflects our commitment to providing comprehensive, industry-specific legal solutions to our clients in Thailand and across the region.”

Added fellow co-managing partner, Supawat Srirungruang: “The arrival of the new team enhances our capabilities in navigating the unique challenges faced by our clients in shipping and insurance matters, from cross-border disputes to compliance and risk management in an evolving regulatory landscape.”

Ittirote’s arrival means that Rajah & Tann Thailand now has 16 partners. Last year the firm lost its IP head Nuttaphol Arammuang to Tilleke & Gibbins.
