Investigative firm Nardello & Co has hired Barry Irwin as the regional head of its EMEA offering. Based in London, he joins from the Singapore office of Allen & Overy, where he worked for more than a decade.

Irwin takes over from Martin Stone, partner and senior managing director at Nardello. He advises on cross-border M&A, and has had a 30-year career spanning both private practice and in-house.

Having begun his career as an in-house counsel at ExxonMobil and Westfield Group, Irwin spent 10 years with Australian firm Allens in Sydney, Singapore, and Jakarta. He was then a partner at Watson, Farley & Williams in Singapore, before joining Clayton Utz, another Australian firm.

At A&O, Irwin was one of the founding partners of Allen & Overy’s Sydney office, after joining the Magic Circle firm with 13 other lawyers from Clayton Utz.
