Gibson Dunn & Crutcher has appointed technology transactions partner Connell O’Neill in the firm’s Hong Kong office from Allen & Overy.

O’Neill, who had been with Allen & Overy for nearly a decade, becomes the fourth lawyer to leave the firm’s Hong Kong office since June this year. His exit follows the departures of Cliff Chow, who joined Ashurst, Liang (Alex) Tao, who was hired by Milbank, and equity capital markets specialist Michael Jacobs, who moved to Herbert Smith Freehills in London.

O’Neill advises clients across the Asia-Pacific region on corporate and commercial transactions with a focus on the TMT sector.

Prior to joining Allen & Overy, O’Neill worked with Australian firms Gilbert + Tobin and Blake Dawson. With his addition, Gibson Dunn’s Hong Kong office now has 14 partners.
