Three alumni of Indian law firms HSA Advocates, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan (L&S) and AZB & Partners have set up a transactional law firm in Mumbai called LexRidge Partners.

The three lawyers are Amitabh Sharma, a former managing partner of HSA; Vikas Kumar, a former partner at L&S; and Naved Askari, a former counsel at AZB.

For the time being the primary practice areas of LexRidge will include M&A, joint ventures, venture capital and private equity investments, commercial disputes, projects, energy and infrastructure.

Sharma joined HSA as managing partner in May 2016 from Khaitan & Co. His leadership stint ended in April 2019. He spent six years with Khaitan, prior to which Sharma was a partner at J. Sagar Associates.

Kumar was a partner at L&S for four years, having joined the firm from DH Law Associates in 2015. He had prior stints at both Khaitan and JSA.

Askari held in-house roles for about nine years, first at Wockhardt and then at Suzlon Energy. He joined AZB as counsel in 2015 and stayed for about three years.
