Tiang & Co., Big Four accounting firm PwC’s member law firm in Hong Kong, has continued to expand after hiring M&A specialist Martin Robertson from Mayer Brown JSM.

Robertson, who has more than 23 years of legal experience, specialises in M&A with a focus on cross-border deals. At Mayer Brown, he led the corporate practice at one point.

With experience in advising clients on reorganisations, joint ventures, private equity and venture capital transactions, Robertson acts for local and international blue chip corporations, public and private businesses, private equity houses and family offices.

Robertson is Tiang’s second high-profile lateral in recent weeks. It earlier hired Martyn Huckerby, formerly a partner at King & Wood Mallesons, as the head of its Asia-Pacific competition practice.

Rival Big Four auditor EY recently bulked up in Hong Kong with the hires of four lawyers from Troutman Sanders, which last month closed its Asian offices. Of the four, Rossana Chu and Lynia Lau joined LC Lawyers, EY’s Hong Kong legal member firm, as partners.
