PwC Legal, the legal arm of PricewaterhouseCoopers, has hired Nasir Dao - PKM Abdul as the head of its offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from Gide Loyrette Nouel.

Dao, who headed the Vietnam practice of Gide, has more than 17 years of experience in advising and representing international clients including multinational corporations, banks and financial institutions. Prior to his stint at Gide, Dao worked Hogan Lovells as of counsel and head of the firm’s corporate practice in Vietnam.

Dao’s appointment is a part of PwC Legal’s robust Asia expansion strategy. It hired five partners in Australia in June and relocated Leon Flavell, its global legal head to Singapore to bolster its practice in Southeast Asia recently. PwC Legal now has 76 lawyers, including nine partners, across its offices in the region.

Gide’s recently consolidated its two Vietnam offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and now operates exclusively in Ho Chi Minh City.
