Stephenson Harwood has hired private wealth expert Suzanne Johnston as a partner in Singapore. Johnston was most recently director and senior legal counsel at financial services firm UBS.

Johnston previously worked in the UK with firms such as Maurice Turnor Gardner, Harcus Sinclair and Linklaters. She relocating to Singapore in 2013 to join Withers, where she spent more than five years.

Specialising in international tax and wealth planning, Johnston advises high net-worth individuals, professional trustees, family offices and private banks.

She is Stephenson Harwood’s first lateral partner hire in Singapore since it added arbitration expert Chris Bailey from King & Spalding in July.

Johnston’s arrival means Stephenson Harwood now has 20 partners in Singapore.

Stephenson Harwood has expanded its partner strength in Hong Kong with the hires of transaction specialist Danny Kan and disputes expert Dorothy Siron. They join as partners from Ping An Group and Zhong Lun Law Firm, respectively.
