UK law firm Simmons & Simmons has hired tech and financial disputes expert Lijun Chui as a partner in Singapore from Bird & Bird.

With expertise in international commercial disputes and investigations in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in the TMT and financial sectors, Chui also has experience handling disputes in areas such as retail, construction, infrastructure, shipping and energy. Her technology expertise includes advising clients on cybersecurity, data and emerging technology disputes.

Chui joined Bird & Bird in 2020 from Clifford Chance, where she spearheaded that firm’s local technology disputes and regulatory practice. She earlier worked for local firm Drew & Napier.

Simmons & Simmons now has four dispute resolution partners in Singapore, and 14 overall. They include disputes partner Terence Seah, who joined from Stephenson Harwood earlier this year; trade finance specialist Angelia Chia, who joined from Mayer Brown last year; and TMT and IP expert Yingyu Wang, who joined from the exiting Taylor Vinters in 2022.
