DLA Piper has bolstered its Seoul-based corporate team with the addition of Jang Hyuk Yeo, a former partner at Greenberg Traurig, as it aims to strengthen its capabilities in facilitating U.S.-Korea cross-border transactions.

Yeo focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, capital markets, foreign investments, private equity transactions, and other general corporate matters.

He specialises in guiding Korean companies through global investments and fundraising, particularly in the U.S. Yeo’s client portfolio includes major corporations like LG, Kakaopay, and Lotte, as well as emerging players such as SemiFive and Daesung Group. Additionally, he has provided counsel on private equity investments for Carlyle Group and the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.

Yeo joined Greenberg Traurig in 2021 from Lee & Ko, where he was a partner. He was previously an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton.

“The appointment will ensure clients have access to lawyers who understand their market environment and use their business first mindset to help clients to transform their business,” said Benjamin Parameswaran, global co-chair of DLA’s international corporate practice, in a statement.

“Jang has extensive experience in both South Korea and the US, making him superbly placed to support clients as they look to capitalise on the opportunities both markets have to offer,” he added.

With Yeo’s addition, DLA Piper now has four partners in Seoul. They include Brian Youn, who joined earlier this year from Milbank
