Beijing-headquartered law firm Jingtian & Gongcheng has welcomed back Li Fai as a partner in its Hong Kong office. He was most recently a partner at EY member firm LC Lawyers, which shuttered in January this year.

Li, who was a partner at Jingtian & Gongcheng between 2019 and 2021 before moving to LC, specialises in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets. He has experience in initial public offerings, corporate restructuring, private equity financing, and general commercial and compliance matters.

Li has provided legal advice for several Chinese companies listing in Hong Kong and has participated in restructuring and M&A projects for Hong Kong-listed companies, involving industries such as manufacturing, retail, food, media, pharmaceuticals, and energy.

After LC Lawyers officially ceased operations in Hong Kong, its former managing partner, Rossana Chu, joined Yang & Yang, which recently established a joint operation with PRC firm East & Concord Partners.

According to Jingtian & Gongcheng's website, its Hong Kong office currently has 15 partners, many of whom specialise in capital markets work. In 2023, the firm participated in 27 Hong Kong IPO transactions.
