Luthra and Luthra Law Offices India has become the latest in a string of firms to add in-house experience to its partner ranks, adding compliance and intellectual property specialist Suprio Dasgupta in Hyderabad.

Dasgupta comes on board after 22 years as an in-house counsel. He has served as general counsel for Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, and Honeywell, regional GC for Scheider Electric, and chief IP counsel for GE.

An independent consultant since November 2023, Dasgupta has experience with compliance, IP, corporate governance, ESG, consulting, litigation, and data privacy management across a number of sectors.

Firms have been actively adding in-house experience to their partner ranks in recent times, looking to strengthen their compliance and commercially focused offerings in a highly competitive and fragmented Indian legal market.

Last month, J Sagar Associates hired Zetwerk counsel Rakesh Warrier, Economic Laws Practice added Ola Electric GC Sanjit Nagarkatti and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas brought in former Embassy Group GC Siddharth Vedula.
