U.S. law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan has hired cross-border dispute resolution expert Hisaya Kimura as a partner in Tokyo. Kimura was most recently a senior counsel at Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu.

A veteran litigator with nearly four decades of experience, Kimura focuses on international disputes, including foreign litigation and international arbitration, primarily representing Japanese companies.

After a brief stint at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in New York early in his career, he joined Nagashima & Ohno (now Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu) in 1993. He was a partner from 1996 to 2023, and also served on the firm's management committee for a decade.

At Quinn Emanuel, Kimura will advise Japanese companies on global matters, particularly international arbitration and U.S. litigation. He will work alongside Ryan Goldstein, the managing partner of Quinn Emanuel's Tokyo office, who specializes in complex business litigation.
